  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

    Dry, burnt, chalky character. Use in porters, stouts, brown ales and dark lagers.

    Used predominantly in the production of dark beers such as milds, browns, porters, and stouts.

Notes

The ginger was faint, use more if you want more ginger flavor. It did get a little more assertive after 6+ months in the bottle. This beer kept getting better with age until we finished it around a year old. Probably could have kept going.
