Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .5 lbs American Black Patent

    American Black Patent

    Provides color and sharp flavor in stouts and porters.

  • .25 lbs American Chocolate Malt

    American Chocolate Malt

    Use in all types to adjust color and add nutty, toasted flavor. Chocolate flavor.

  • 7.0 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • .25 lbs Malto Dextrin

    Malto Dextrin

    Adds body and mouthfeel. For all extract beers. Does not ferment.

  • 1 oz Northern Brewer - 6.8 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Northern Brewer

    Used for bittering with strong flavors and very fragrant in steam beers, dark English ales, and German lagers. Aroma is medium-strong with evergreen and mint overtones.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

Notes

Chocolate chips were added to boil. Stir well for a few minutes so the dont burn to the bottom. The extract is added at bottleing/kegging. Use the best Chocolate chips you can afford.

Came out a little bitter because of to much cocoa powder. Maybe half will be enough.
