Columbus IPA
American IPA • Extract • 5.5 gal
This is a variation of a recipe called Irational IPA; this one uses Columbus hops exclusively. At bottling I thought the hops tasted a little funny, but now that it's carbonated it's very good!

Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

Notes
Partial mash (45 minutes @ 156 F). 3/4 cup priming sugar. California or Cal V yeast works great.
