Maroon and Orange Irish Red Ale
Irish Red Ale • Extract • 5.3 gal
My first shot at an Irish Red Ale. Tasted great going into the secondary, nice subtle roasty character. Beer is not clear yet and appears a dark orange color - hopefully it will actually end up being reddish!

This is the yeast from one of the oldest stout producing breweries in the world. It produces a slight hint of diacetyl, balanced by a light frui|iness and slight dry crispness. Great for Irish ales, stouts, porters, browns, reds and a very interesting pal

Turned out nicely

I kegged this sucker a few weeks ago. Once it cleared, it did come out nice and red. Nice toffee/malt flavor upfront. Very drinkable and quite the crowd pleaser. Came in at roughly 5.8%. Will definitely brew this again down the road, might add a bit more roasted barley next time.
Pretty tasty brew, could've used a touch more sweetness

This was my first attempt at an Irish Red and it turned out pretty nice. Nice light roasty/toffee-like character and clean finish. Only thing I noticed missing was a little more sweetness on the backend. This beer was a hit with my BMC drinkers, probably because it wasn't hopped to all hell like most of my brews (hahaha). Next time I'll up the crystal malt a bit and ferment this a bit cooler. Cheers!
