Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1.17 lbs Belgian Caramunich

    Belgian Caramunich

    Caramel, full flavor, copper color. For Belgian ales, German smoked and bocks.

  • .0625 lbs English Chocolate Malt

    English Chocolate Malt

    Dark malt that gives a rich red or brown color and nutty flavor. Use for: Brown ales, porters, some stouts Maintains some malty flavor, not as dark as roasted malt.

  • 1.5 lbs German Light Munich

    German Light Munich

    For a desired malty, nutty flavor. Lagers, Oktoberfests and bock beer.

  • .25 lbs Belgian Aromatic

    Belgian Aromatic

    Imparts a big malt aroma. Use in brown ales, Belgian dubbels and tripels.

  • 10 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • .5 lbs Malto Dextrin

    Malto Dextrin

    Adds body and mouthfeel. For all extract beers. Does not ferment.

  • 1 oz Tettnanger - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

  • .4 oz Challenger - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

  • White Labs WLP830 German Lager

    White Labs WLP830 German Lager

    This yeast is one of the most widely used lager yeasts in the world. Very malty and clean, great for all German lagers, pilsner, oktoberfest, and marzen.

Notes

Was going to use English 2-row, but this brew got delayed, so we went back and got the belgian aromatic. Also changed from Southern German lager yeast to German lager yeast. Initial O.G. = 1.0835 (5/30/05) Secondary O.G. = 1.032 (6/16/05)
