  • White Labs WLP005 British Ale

    White Labs WLP005 British Ale

This yeast is a little more attenuative than WLP002. Like most English strains, this yeast produces malty beers. Excellent for all English style ales including bitter, pale ale, porter, and brown ale.

Notes

Adaptation to Azorolean's Chocolate Porter. For the final 5 minutes of the boil, add 4 oz. cracked french press coffee beans. I spread them out on paper towl, folded it over and rolled over them with a wine bottle a bit. Then I filtered out the excess dust for higher clarity. Only using 2 stage fermentation. I'll update when its tasted.

Too much coffee

If you like coffee, you should like this porter. But, for my tastes, I would kick back the coffee a bit and go for a more chocolatier taste.
