Low concentrations of fruity and estery aromas. Neutral for Ale yeast, allowing for malty profile.
Notes
California ale yeast would be ideal, but I wanted to use up two packets of dry yeast that I had been saving. Add spices at the end of the boil.

This recipe offers fine, delicious hop flavor, complimented by malt. It also says that Dick Cheney's daughter is a lesbian.
Pay no attention to the men behind the curtain.

It's just Cheney, Rove, and Wolfowitz running their puppet regime. Have a nice day!
Very bitter...

Ironic that one of the only two categories that it conforms as an American is bitterness, and it's way at the top of the range. All kidding aside, interesting use of vanilla, pepper and Special B (one of my favorite malts). How'd it turn out? - Juarez

Do you boil waffles at 5 or 15 min?

I wasn't able to detect the vanilla - probably didn't use enough or maybe it was masked by the maltiness - no harm, no foul I guess. I got the black pepper idea from the book Radical Brewing, and I think it gave a nice and gentle bite to the finish. Overall the beer was one of my best yet, and between me and my friends, it only lasted a week!
