Amber is used predominantly in the production of medium-colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters.

Dry Light Extract
White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

Mt. Hood - 6.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min
Mt. Hood
Used mainly for aroma and flavor in American and German style ales and lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant, light, and clean.

Good for all around bittering and finishing stock ales, Belgian ales, and continental style lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant and flowery.

Ferments dry and crisp, leaving a complex but mild flavor. Produces an extremely rocky head and ferments well down to 55F.
Notes
Made using the Midwest Supplies Excelsior Altbier Kit. Full volume boil (7 gals) for 60 minutes. Also made a 2 pint starter with the Wyeast 1007 (German Ale). Primary fermentation started in less than 12 hours.

Transferred to Secondary on February 23, 2004. Gravity reading was 1.012. Tasted sample, and Oh man. This is probably going to be very good. Real similar to Alaskan Amber.

Transferred to keg on March 15, 2004. Final gravity was 1.010. About 3.75% alcohol. Sample tast was fantastic. This is going to be awesome when finished. Even my wife thought the sample tasted good.
