Winter Ale 2012
American Barleywine • Partial Mash • 5 gal
I have made this from an extract recipe for the past 4 yrs as a "Winter Warmer". This year I am graduating to a partial mash. It is really, really good in reasonable quantities.

Mini Kegged on Nov 1. ABV= 9.1% Nicely balanced malt, slightly sweet finish, no noticeable burn. Goes down smooth but watch the quantity. It sneaks up on you. Would like a little more spice and less bitter in the hops, not unpleasant as is. Got great reviews from my son's business partner who is a specialty ale buff.
