Using our unique process, we remove the husks from carefully selected grains before malting and roasting them. Reduces astringency and bitterness, while adding coffee-brown color, a coffee-like bouquet, dark-beer aroma, as well as body and mouthfeel to finished beer—but without introducing harsh flavors. Into the bucket...

Pitched the 002 into a frothy 5-gallon bucket of creamy and dreamy brunette curls at 71F with an OG of 1.49...The house smells wonderful.
Great flavors but one mistake

The flavor profile is quite good with this, and the mouthfeel is exceptional. However, there is too much tannin -- I recall sparging with water that was near boiling when I should have brought it down to no-hotter-than 170F. I got too much husk tannin in the end result. It's not all bad - the tannin gives a snappy clean aftertaste. But I wanted more of a malt finish.
