My personal take on an old fashioned recipe. I plan on brewing it sometime this weekend.

Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 7 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • 1 lbs Honey

    Honey

    Imparts sweet and dry taste. For honey and brown ales. Also: specialty ales.

  • 1 lbs White Table Sugar (Sucrose)

    White Table Sugar (Sucrose)

    Common household table/baking sugar. Lightens flavor and body of beer. Can contribute a cider-like flavor to the beer if not cold-fermented or used in large quantities.

  • 1 oz Ginger (fresh) - (omitted from calculations)

    Ginger possesses an intriguing; sweet, spicy and pungent flavour. Ginger is the common name given to the underground stem (rhizome) of the perennial plant Zingiber officinale Roscoe. It is chemically classified as an essential oil with pungent principles, and has been in use as a flavoring agent worldwide for over 20 centuries.

    White Labs WLP800 Pilsner Lager

    Classic pilsner strain from the premier pilsner producer in the Czech Republic. Somewhat dry with a malty finish, this yeast is best suited for European pilsner production.
