high gravity brewing

Post by jwkempo »

Has anyone tried hight gravity brewing. I usually brew big beers with a OG of appx 1.080-1.090, in ten gallon batches.
I was thinking of diluting the uncarbonated beer with boiled spring water. appx. five gallons for the 10 gallons of fermented wort. Giving me a total of 15 gallons of beer. Any Tips?

high gravity-mash tun

Post by jwkempo »

I'm using the minibrew mash/lauter tun. It can hold appx 28 pounds of grain. So when I use about 27 pounds of grain, my S.G.with DWC pale is usually 1.080-1.090.
