i'll be making my rauchbier this weekend, should i go with my current recipe which gives me 7.2%ABV of should i cut it back a little. the 7.2 is above guidelines, but i'm shooting for a bigger urbock kind of beer for the winter. just looking for some thoughts

If you can keep it relatively balanced, hit it. Love the strong ale.
