Recipe/Folders Tree
Recipe/Folders Tree
Since updating to version 2 the folders tree/hierarchy listing in the left panel no longer remembers what was open when restarting Beer Tools Pro. Given my deep folder trees, this is a nuisance. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to adjust or is this a lost feature in the updgrade from 1.5 to 2? Thanks!

As I've mentioned on a few other things, this isn't a deal-breaker but it is highly annoying.

On a related note, the Sort By column always reverts to "Sort By Name, Ascending" when I open a new session. I almost never sort that way and have to change it back to the way I like it. Also highly annoying. Why can't it and the tree structure just stay the way they were when I closed my previous session?

Ya know, after I posted I had the same thought. Let's hope our request comes to fruition.

Re: Recipe/Folders Tree
I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath. I love BTP, it's super-functional and IMO the UI is so much better than Beersmith, but development is so slow and I don't get the feeling that it's any sort of priority for the folks who work on it.
(By contrast, Beer Smith is very actively developed, Brad shows up at every NHC to promote his product, he advertises it in all the magazines, many websites and podcasts, etc. and this has resulted in a huge user base.)
When people ask me what software I use I proudly tell them Beer Tools Pro... but in my very large homebrew club I think I'm the only one. Everyone else uses Beersmith.

Re: Recipe/Folders Tree
I finished development of open folder persistence. With the exception of online folders, all folders that were open when the application was last quit are opened upon launch. Online folders are not opened until successful login. I will upload the update within the next week.
Thanks for your patience.

Cool, thank you! Will it also remember the sort order (name, style, etc.)?
