when to add Sarsaparilla

I brew using a partial mash method, when could I add Sarsaparilla? Do I treat it like a grain? Or an extract? If an extract, at what time in the boil?

Never tried it, but I would think the last 15 minutes of the boil would be fine. That or in your fermentors.
Primary - Belgian Dubbel, Belgian IPA
Secondary - Cherry Lambic
Bottled - Bourbon Barrel Coffee Porter, Double Chocolate Raspberry Stout, Imperial Nut Brown, Apfelwein, American Amber Ale w/Homegrown Hops, Breakfast Stout
Kegged - Bass Clone, ESB
