Handling DME?

Is there a way to use DME without having it clump
or stick to everything? I measure out the correct
amount for my recipe but I lose some of it to clumping
from the steam of my pot.

I've recently given up on dme in favor of liquid extract. I observed many incomplete fermentations (finishing at 1.026 or higher) with the dry extract in beers with an OG of 1.050+. That was with a full yeast starter & aeration. As a test I switched to the liquid and found fermentations routinely finish where they are supposed to.

And no clumping. :)

If you do stick with dme, I've had luck with a big sanitized whisk working quickly to dissolve the extract before much clumping could occur.

I use a 1/2 cup scoop to put DME in my brewpot.
After a few scoops it gets clumped on the scooper
and I just dunk it into the brewpot to disolve
it off. It takes a little longer to scoop 6+
pounds of DME this way, but I get it all in there.
