Cork lined bottle caps

Post by HardcoreLegend »

I just bought some vintage cork lined bottle caps in various colors so I can help differentiate my bottled brews. Are these caps good? Are they better than regular plastic lined caps? I bought them pretty cheap, so it is OK if you tell me to not use them. What do you think?

Beware!

I'm not sure, but I would guess that cork, being porous, is a great medium for bacterial growth & difficult to sanitize. Perhaps if you boiled them for a while it would be safe, but I think I'd stick w/ plastic.

dreaming different coloured caps

I put coloured dot stickers on the bottle caps and then legend the colours. Sure would be nice to have coloured caps though. <whistle>
Sorry, no advice, just wish I had different coloured caps.
