rich red color ?

Post by beef »

I would like a rich red color to an amber ale I am making, what malt will give me the reddish color I am looking for besides the crystal malts?

Victory!

I've used victory malt to give a redish hue w/ good results. Also lends a bit of a "bready/biscuity" flavor.

Red.

I use a small amount of roasted barley (a couple ounces per 5 gallon batch in an all grain recipe).
