Color meter

Post by Chuck »

Is there a device available to determine the SRM color units of your finished beer .I thought that a device like a swimming pool chlorine/PH tester with a color gauge on one side and the sample vile on the other side; a comparison of the color could determine it's SRM

SRM Calibrated Acetates...

Yes.. there is such a thing. I regularly used it when I was judging and now use it when I am in doubt where my color values are hitting. It is called a Davidson Color Guide (414.545.9246). It ranges from 3~19L. Anything darker than that has to be mesaured with a spectrophotometer.
