Hop Scale Question ? ? ?

Postby Azorean Brewer » Wed Sep 25, 2002 1:42 am

Brew Memebers, I am looking for a very inexpensive hop scale (wife has been laid off for a while now, money is tight). What are you using for a hop scale? And how much should I expect to spend on one? Also where can I get one ? Thanks in advance,

Paul: I picked up a decent electronic scale at Walmart for $30. I use it to weigh everything. When I need finer control, like for hops, I switch it to the grams scanle.

I use an old plastic, top-loaded spring scale that my wife got when she joined Weight Watchers a long time ago. I wouldn't trust it for anything less than 1/4-ounce, but it's great for everything else up to 1/2-lb. i know Wal-Mart etc. carries these dealies and they can't be more than 10 bucks.
