yeast propagation

Post by Radler »

I guess I have gotten lazy, but I am wondering if anyone knows if the Wyeast propagator packs need to be propagated before pitching into the wort or if the 25 billion cell count is enough to start 5 gallons. Has anybody tried it directly with success? Thanks.

I just finished a dunkel like that. Although I did use an XL pack.
I had airlock action in 8 hrs.
