Malting

Post by jayhawk »

Does anyone have any experience malting their own grains. I want to experiment with grains other than barley and wheat, but I am not sure what temp to kiln them at. I would like to try create everything from a pale malt to a dark crystal. Any suggestions or links?

thanks

spay a flat metal tray containing yellow corn with a little water, store for 12 hours in a cool, dark place. the resulting germination is already supposed to create the needed enzymes. halt the germination by heating for at least 30 minutes at 175 degrees F.
