I guess not.

Gotta say, I love BTP but sometimes I feel like it's close to being a dead product and I wonder what the future holds. BeerSmith is so active (software updates, blog posts, forum communication, Brad and crew @ NHC every year) and BTP is virtually silent by comparison.

I agree. I love the BeerTools software and would hate to move to Beer Smith.

While I disagree with the notion that Beer Smith is the only actively supported brewing software, I can see how it gets that reputation. That being said, any issue that I have ever had (very few) was quickly responded to by Jeff.

And (back on track) I would love to see an integrated timer in the desktop version. I would also prefer a mobile timer, but as a happy android user, I know the iPhone/iPad app will likely take precedent.

You are free to speak your mind, but plugging the competition here may be counter productive. :?

I'm not "plugging the competition" I'm simply pointing out that they are very active in promoting and updating their software and you guys are not (it's been over a year since the timer discussion was started, for example), and you've lost out on a lot of market share as a result. My homebrew club has almost 200 members, and I am one of only a small handful (less than 10) who use BTP. I still try to convince the ones who haven't yet adopted a software choice to go with BTP...

I love BTP (even with its quirks and a couple of more serious bugs) and do not look forward to a day where I would have to be forced to use something else... I feel you are still more advanced than the others (although that gap is closing), and your UI is far nicer to look at and to use. If I ran a brewery or brewpub I'd still want to use BTP, I think it's powerful enough to be used in a pro setting while still being a great choice for the homebrewer.

Thanks. You don’t have to explain yourself, I am not disputing your position. You have gripes, and I care about them and want to address them. All I was saying is that what you post here has the potential to affect the outcome for good or less than good. I would like to anticipate great things in BTP’s future. If I can swing it, maybe we can meet up at NHC someday.

Timers, especially cascading timers setup in BTP on the desktop would be awesome. I do agree with Jeff crom several posts ba k that running the timers on BTPConnect makes more sense, especially when all brewday input use cases are on the BTPConnect device app and ceed data back to the desktop app safely away from the unfriendly brewing environment (for PCs and laptops that is).

Still not included, six years and several versions later.

Disappointing to say the least.
