First off I'd like to say thanks for your support Jeff was willing to help me out this past weekend migrating data between v 1.5 to 2.0, he was quick to respond and follow up. On to the request.
I would love it if you could add right click options to both the database and My Ingredients items to view/edit without having to add them to the recipe first.
using linux version 2.02
I would also think it great if you could add a date field (purchase/manufactured/harvest) to "my ingredients" entries, this mostly comes into play with hops as I have some from year to year and it would be great to know which to use up first. The hop AA change from year to year and as I look through the list it'd be nice to see the dates. This would probably work for grains as well as harvested yeast as well.

Re: My Ingredients/database quick view
To quickly view item information while working with BeerTools Pro it is often helpful to keep the Info window open and placed in a convenient location on the screen. This window displays information about the currently selected item.jawohls wrote:I would love it if you could add right click options to both the database and My Ingredients items to view/edit without having to add them to the recipe first.
Items in the Ingredient DB can’t be modified, but items in My Ingredients can. My Ingredients right-click options include Edit and Delete. There is no need to add them to a recipe to edit or view them. Add ingredients to My Ingredients by dragging them from the Ingredient DB.

Re: My Ingredients/database quick view
Jeff,
Thanks, not sure why but I swear I right clicked on a "My Ingredients" entry before and the edit/delete didn't appear, it did now.
I didn't know about the "Info" window but I do now, thanks. I see that the Info window has a last modified date stamp, but that isn't quite what I was hoping for, I currently maintain a stock of hops, grains and yeast and they sometimes go over different harvests, I guess I could add it to the description but having a date field would allow sorting by date so I could quickly see items that may be getting old in my inventory .
Likewise I feel this becomes very important when harvesting yeast to be able to add a harvest date, a generation field might be nice as well to the yeast editor window.
I am finally playing more with the inventory portion of the program that I hadn't done so in the previous version, so I am giving it a good run through and trying to incorporate into my process/record keeping
I do appreciate the prompt feedback, keep up the good work!

Re: My Ingredients/database quick view
For hops, I add a date to the name in My Ingredients. So, I often have something like "Willamette '12" and "Willamette '13" in inventory at the same time. It also makes it easy to quickly see what I used in a recipe.
