I always end up working off a printout of the recipe so I can make notes of important things like:
Mash start time:
Boil Start time:
From these markers I know when my next action is due. These "brewing" markers should be associated with timers so I can stop working from prints.
Example:
When mash start is pressed, a timer (based on sach rest time) starts. This timer runs with an option to alert the brewer to raise MLT mashout water temp roughly 15 mins before sach rest is complete. When the sach rest is complete an alert goes off until it is acknowledged by the brewer.
Once the "boil start" timer is activated each hop addition, etc. has alerts associated and buzz until the brewer acknowledges the alert.
I hope this is clear.

I like this idea.
This would eventually lead into BTP being able to run a home automated brew house, if you were one of those guys who had the cash for all the gear.
