Washington Brewers and the Government.

To all,

As some of you know I have recently gone pro. This has been interesting and hard on the body. It has offered me a great opportunity to see govenment in action and be part of the process. Through my affiliation with the Washington Brewers Guild we took a trip to the state capitol to protest a 495% per barrel tax incease and we won (at least this round). There are still 80 days left in this executive session to follow but 54 small brewery owners and brewers "stormed the capital and made a difference".

In these hard economic times all brewers and consumers need to beware. The governments are looking for money and, as in Washington, will try and pull it from everywhere.

Be on the alert,

Tom F.
