yup

Cool that was pretty much my plan , just wondered if anybody had tried it and got a nasty surprise. I'm already convinced that Beer Beer and More Beer produce the best mailorder kit available, usually it's hard to tell whether they came from extract kits.

Getting ready to brew b3 Jamil's chocolate hazelnut porter, just wondering if anyones tried this one? If so any suggested tweaking before I fire up the copper.

simple concerrn

That is exactly how I used to do it. learned it in How To Brew Quality Beer , my only concern was pressurizing a keg while it still contained atmosphere. thought that maybe under pressure Co2 and oxygen might mix up and be harder to flush completly out. anybody ever flush thier carboys and or kegs with Co2 before racking secondary or kegging. I've picked up the habit of flushing until a barbque lighter won't stay lit in the opening, my reasoning is if the flame won't stay lit, no oxygen. no oxygen, no oxidation of the liguid gold. I fill snap top bottles out of my corny setup also and have great results. I've seen as much as a week in the bottle and still had carbo. My method is fairly simple, set pressure to about 2-3 psi after carbo, 12" piece of rigid tube inserted into picnic tap to reach bottom of bottle, important ...

Crank and shake is very reliable as long as you use the tables, I suspect that your probably way over carbonated. Try letting the pressure out in stages, by releasing the gas in the headspace, let it build up again and release. repeat as neccesary until its proper.Also if I understand you right you ...
