I am able to buy a decent amount of hops from a local brewpub @ $2/oz. They don't have many home brewers coming in buying stuff from them. They don't have everything I need as far as hops go, but I am totally happy with how much they help out:) The brewpub is Lengthwise in Bakersfield, CA. It you ar...

Not sure if it the best thing to do, but I give the fermenter a good shake if it doesn't start withing 24 hours. That seems to get things going fast. usually within the hour after shaking.

still good

As long as you store your grain in an airtight bin it should last a year for you. You really want to make sure bugs can't get in and the lower the temp you store it the longer it will last.

I like the bb

I have two of them. I mainly use them for my secondary though. I have read things recently about plastic that makes me not want to use them any more though. They give off chemicals the higher the temp you get them:(. I really would like a stainless conical fermenter, but I can't afford that right no...

I agree with him^

When I give a beer away I tell them to pour it in a clear glass and tell me what you think. lol.

I wish I would have read over my last post before I submitted it  *pour* I can't spell for !@#$, but that is just embarrassing.

I do poor my home brew into a glass, also when I drink to get screwed up I drink a few of mine and then some cheap beer to finish the night. I guess it is really bad when you can't find your freshly pored "glass". I left it on the fence outside :P

bad beer

I was just wondering and thank you all for your replies. The reason for the question is I get to drinking and every once in a while I misplace a freshly opened beer and the next morning I find it full and I really hate to waste my home brew. I was telling someone about my drunken beer misplacing and...
