different carbing sugars have very little effect on flavour as you only use enough for carbonation. You want to be left with very little fermentables in your beer or you end up with bottle bombs

I ferment in buckets with the top just sitting there. Never had a contaminated batch ever. I consider an explosive ferment and the mess that goes with it a trophy of sorts. Brew On!!!

blend it
I did a batch a while back with some unknown hops, turned out to be Tomahawks and WOW!!! un believeably bitter. I have been brewing some low hopped beers and blending this into it to taste with great results. I only have to use about 2 gallons ata time of a 10 gallon batch of literally undrinkable b...

no expert
Not by any means but if I remember correctly this is a very stable compound that will not freely give up its bonds. Therefore the O2 in the H2O2 will remain bonded to the H2 and not be released for use by other interlopers like yeasty beasties. I could be wrong but i think it will be the first tme e...

no need to remove
you don't have to remove the hops prior to chilling. You don't want them all in your fermenter though. leave them behind in the boil pot after draining. Whole hops make a wonderful filter for your boil pot drain

3/4 too much
I use the same web page for natural carb too. You can change the carb method on the calculator. I do find that even with a Weissen 3/4 cup is a bit much though for a corny.

guage in freezer
don't pay any attention to the hig press guage when in the freezer. When out of freezer c02 maintains 800-900 psi. When it drops below 80 you know the actual liquid is gone and you are running on just pressure left in the bottle. Back up bottles are a gift from God

I do both
I both natural carb and force carb. There is a huge difference in taste. Sme beers just taste better when naturaly carbed (my opinion) like Brit pales. The east in the bottom cmes out the tube after the first pnt, every time. After keg is empty you can look into it and see the yeast sediment on the ...

apple juice
I have been making my starters with apple juice. t's half the price of DME, and works just as good. Gravity of apple juice is usually in around 1.040. I use a yeast bank to store yeast for future use. They are excellent kits and cheap. Once pitchng from a smack pack, I store the little bit of remain...

buy all you need first
Hi Azore: I would suggest getting everything you need in one shot, otherwise it will nickle and dime you to death. For multiple kegs I would definately recommend secondary regs for each one. That way you can adjust carbonation of individual kegs. Pricey yes, worth it? Yes. Kegs kegs and more kegs. Y...

OMG don't toss it!!!
I also am stuck with dry yeast for the most part. I've seen it take several days to start and sometimes in a bucket bubbles are a poor indication of fermenting due to the bad seal. I must agree the Safale S-04 is IMHO the best dry out there. Coopers makes a decent one too. Give it some time and orde...
