I'm with you sloth. After reading through that again, I'm confused now. I thought he was saying he was brewing double batches and combining them on the second day. I'm not sure what he means by "level-dip" and "break down" Are you doing this on a commercial level, or homebrewing?...

Sounds like you need a bigger brewpot and/or mash tun.

After looking through my phone, I realized I only had one really good picture. After a few pints of double IPA, my camera skills seem to have gone down hill. Here's the good one.

These were taken a few weeks ago and are bad pictures, but as you can see, my support system was sort of thrown up in a hurry. Next year I will be using something more permanant since I know that the hops will do well here. Both of the middle shoots have bines from two different rhizomes...again...I...

Legman, I agree. I would rather have them get good roots. They actually tried to grow farther than what I had available to them. I think I planted them too close to eachother, and because of that they are all innerweaved. They have gotten bushy at the bottom, but not a whole lot. I'll try to post pi...

So how are everyone's hops doing? I think I see what may be flowers on mine, but if they are, they're extremely small and dissappointing. Mine are all around 15' high and first years. Next year I will have to completely rethink my approach to hanging them up. They grew way past what I had originally...

I almost forgot about this post. I've got pictures taken, I just need to get them off of my phone. It worked great! I was completely shocked. I do need to make a few minor adjustments to it because it leaked a little bit, but other than that, it was delicious. The IPA was actually designed for the R...

Thanks for the early warning. I'd imagine I'll see them in a few days now.

I'm not sure how well this will work with beer, but you can give it a try.

Soap separates from water pretty easily with the help of ionic compounds. Try adding some table salt to your beer and see if the oily stuff separates from the beer. If so, then you've got soap in your beer.

Bill, you won't have much luck getting away from the heat if you moved north unless you're going to Canada. Today in Rockford (20 miles south of the wisconsin border), the heat index was 100 degrees. It was the same yesterday and will be tomorrow. I'm worried about my hops, but supposedly they can h...

My hops are all doing pretty well. I've got one Mt. Hood, one Cascade, and one Nugget. My Nugget hops are doing insane. They're at about 10' right now and climbing. They're only bushy at the bottom though. My Mt. Hood is next at about 8'. The Cascade is a bit wimpy at around 5-1/2'. It doesn't look ...

You'll get a different opinion on that from everyone. I used stainless for my very first pot, but it was only 5 gallons so I quickly needed to upgrade. At that time I didn't have the money to through 200 into a 10 gallon stainless pot, so I opted for the turkey fryer combo. It was a 7.5 gallon pot, ...

There doesn't seem to be anyone alive on this forum at the moment. I would help you out, but I'm not too good at converting units. If you convert what you've got to pounds and ounces I can help you out.

carbonation question.

This is probably an easy question for someone, but seeing as I've never done it, I'm a little confused. I'm still somewhat new to kegging (about to keg my 5th batch) so I'm still learning. I made a double IPA for a friends birthday party coming up in a few weeks. It will be ready to keg here in a fe...
