Re: I get sort of the same "packaging" bug ...

I'm not sure that updating the bottle count to reflect changes in final volume is appropriate, but I do think that the packaging display should at least change the "Remaining" amount. Since seeing your post, I have played around with this a little, including restarting BTP several times t...

Re: Window Title Bug

When opening a recipe, the name of the recipe/file does not appear on the new window area on the lower windows bar. The default one in my case "Untitled Session" will appear on all of the BTP boxes on the bottom, when in reality I have multiple named recipes open that are not titled "...

Packaging Bug

When changing the final volume of beer, the packaging window does not update the bottle count to reflect new volume of beer.

Re: Hops Stored Correctly??

I noticed that the STRORAGE Option is always - POOR. I was wondering if that could be a Preference? I always Buy my ingredients JUST before I brew. This is not something you would change. I think it means "Storage Stability", which is a function of the hop variety. When i clicked on Cente...

Perhaps BTP should allow the user to choose whether "IBU", "mg/L", or "AAU" should be shown in the graph.

I did not know mg/L was IBU... I learn something new everyday.

AAU is a number that gives an idea of bitterness... i think AAU = AA% * ounces. The only reason i ask is because BYO gives some of their recipe hop additions in AAU (as well as normal) numbers, and it would be helpful to see this value on the display so I can maintain individual hop bitterness value...

AAU - Alpha Acid Units

I have come across a recipe that specs out the hops in AAU.

Is there a way to make the calculation in BTP? (I know it is a super easy one to make, but I can be lazy)

Also, is there a way to possibly incorporate this into the display?

cheers!

Re: Dead Space?? Terminology..Etc....

One thing i did run across was why BTPro does not list the Pre-Boil OG and the final OG. I think that the display and calculation of the pre-boil SG would be a useful feature for all brewers. Any takers? Thanks everyone! Ron Run the cursor over the Kettle Volume (for preboil grav) textbox, and run ...

Follow the kit instructions

I would tend to think that you need to follow the directions exactly, for the bittering values are calculated for someone following it, If you use more or less water in the boil, the bitterness will be less or more so. Having a beer calculation program will allow you to scale the hops as you scale t...

That is a nice website. I think Jamil put a lot of time into it, so I am not sure if much/any of it can be incorporated into BTP.

But, I am sure some sort of rudimentary type of starter info can be put into BTP, based on well known info, published yeast information.

Ok, I found some interesting info on this at HBD Mash Efficiency Vs. Brewhouse Efficiency Ok, if you're still with me this far, it's time to split a few hairs. Some people calculate their efficiency based on the volume and gravity of pre-boil runnings. This gives the efficiency of the mash and sparg...

I have done exactly that. If I am brewing a huge beer, efficiency tends to get whacked a bit, unless I do a really long boil (>>90 minutes), which I tend not to want to do. So I can make a DME adjustment if I want to based on that reading. I will have to play with the program some more to figure ou...
