Hi AZ Suupp

I think there are some yeasts that I must have to recreate some of my favorite beers. I can tell the difference if another yeast is used. So sometimes I just get the one I need and use a starter to get what I need. I agree that I shouldn't have to do this, and the vial should be enough for a 5 gallo...

Corni kegs

It only gets better from here with kegs. I actually lager my Octoberfest in a corni to clear it. The tall shape lets any finings you my use to have a good effect. There is a lid you can buy to force carbonate in the corni also.

Wellll

I must once again suggest a wit developed here on the forum with the beertools and multiple input from memebers that have been here so long we are calling them ancients.
Search under all grin Wit with words containing "beertools"

If Bluemoon is your deal, you'll like this.

Clearing the old home brew

Hey Tex, I had chill haze at first until I did two things: 1 I started to recirculate until the mash run off was clear and then send it to the boil. 2 I cold conditioned in a Corni keg, the shape of the keg lends itself to clearing out that stuff to the bottom quite well. I can now see the finger pr...

Fisher scientific

Go to Fisher Scientific, and bring a big wallet. Low cost and measuring device don't go well together.

Thats all I could find.

Old beer tools revisited

Hey, I looked up some of my on file recipes and found that they were 100% compliant when I made them but now the same recipe is now off. For example, Helles was 100% across the board but now my terminal at 1.014 is now too high which also makes my hop rate too high as a result of a high terminal gra...

Brewers sensatized to hops? Noooo.

As I taste each batch from my local micro brew, I began to see an increase in hop rates to the point that the standard brown could qualify as a pale ale. Working with hops every day must somehow build a sort of resistance to hop flavor and as the brewer tests each batch the hop rate goes up to suit ...

Green Bay may be closer!

Welllllll nooow. I know you were in the same State as I (soberness) for awhile, but I am sure it is easier to drive from Indy to Greenbay than from Indy to Evantucky. Not quite, but at least I could use a highway someone has heard of. Anyway, I saw some rumblings about reviving the beer exchange tha...

morebeer.com

I forgot to mention that I deal with morebeer.com from Indiana with good results with yeast and you should be 2 days closer for shipping!

They have the stuff dreams are made of, like that snazzy three tier brewing sculpture.

Russian Imperial

Well, I just took the Russian out of the basement after 9 months and put it in the frige to carbonate for two more. Since I haven't brewed since this beer it am hoping nothing happened.

I wanted to know if this is long enough aging considering how heavey this beer is at 1.110 and 14%ABV.
