electric stove no problem

i have brewed many a batch on my electric stove (also a glass top). absolutely no issues if you do all grain. the scorching is a problem when you are doing extract. the concentrated extract sinks to the bottom and can burn there before it completely dissolves. there are a couple of ways to deal with...

i use this calculator for pitching

it works well. before i used the calc, i would occasionally get slow fermentation, especially on bigger beers (1.070+).

i would really like to have this as a btp feature.

ouch, i go in and clean about a dozen, once a week.

there are also a number of hacks that also prevent html and bbcode for x number of posts too.

there are confuse-a-bot hacks out there

i run a board, and there are a lot of spam bots around. the way i reduced a lot of them was by adding a confuse-a-bot hack (there are many available from phpbb.com and phpbbhacks.com). the concept behind these is that they add oddball questions to the registration process. eg:"are you a bot?&qu...

inventory db

how about dragging (inserting in some way) from the ingredients db to the inventory db? this would allow the user to edit personal inventory for the parameters that are known, but leave the default, if its not known. for example: i know the alpha of my hops, but i don't know beta, cohumulone, myrcen...

perhaps, there should be a carbonation style slider bar

there you go. since there is a range for carbonation level for each style, it would be hard (imho) to make the carbonation default to the style's co2 level. however, if in the carbonation tab you could adjust the co2 volumes, and have that reflected on the style tab as a slider; that would work for ...

i use btp on my brewday

i think that the usefulness of btp as a brew day tool can be improved. right now, i do a 'save as' on the recipe that i have open that brewday. i save as [recipe name] 'as brewed [data]. to keep a record. i think this is a little clunky. what i would like to see is an integrated way to record actual...

volume

i think so,
'volume' is total volume both grain and water.

i assume that i would use this feature to predict if my mash tun is large enough to hold everything.

mash schedule question

i brewed an imperial ipa the other week, and i think there is a problem with the liquor volume calculations. the recipe used about 15 lbs of grain and at 1.25 qt/lb i needed 4.77 gallons of water for the mash. why is it, that in the schedule page, it starts with 6.14 gallons and add additional water...
