speaking of silly thoughts

just because i can't think of another solution...... are the caps on tight? not meant to offend. if you are using twisty bottles, it is possible to get a bad seal. this can even happen with pop topers. sometimes i let my son help with bottling, and i go and re-clench all the bottles after he goes ba...

racking loss

i just use a volume adjustment called "racking loss". since i use a conical, i 'rack' by dumping 1/2 gallon out the bottom, and call the rest of the fermentation secondary. then when it's time to keg, i go off the racking port and lose another 1/2 gallon. i apply it once for beer that only...

menu tree

how about "my equipment", and "my schedules" on the menu tree? for example if i am brewing a smaller batch, or doing a partial mash, i want to select different equipment. or if i were to brew using a different mash schedule, it would be nice to select it from the tree also. thanks.

killed it

i created a new recipe, by just dragging random ingredients into the main window. i double clicked on an ingredient (2 row black malt) gave the recipe 12 lbs of the stuff (srm:75), changed it from mash to steep, and back and the color changed to 97, though it apeared in the 'glass' as a nice ruby co...

calculation differences

i have noted some calculation differences between btp 1.0.28 vs 1.1.0.4 specifically color and bitterness. same recipe btp: og 1.074 tg 1.019 color: 37.0 alcohol: 7.37% bitterness: 47.14 alpha: og 1.074 tg 1.019 color: 36.99 alcohol: 7.37% bitterness: 47.1 i know it's a small difference, on a pretty...

sticky menu tree

how about making it so that the menu tree stays the way you left it last time? i like to have the tree expanded (not all the way, not enough room). it would be nice, if i didn't have to open them each time i open btp edit: sticky spacing on the sort tabs at the top of the selection window would be n...

double click to add

i was just playing around with modifying an existing recipe. i would like to be able to double click on an ingredient in the db and have it added to the recipe. right click can still have that function (and the add to my ingredients), but i naturally first tried to add by double click.

Re: Charting Gravity

While this is cool, I don't think many brewers take enough gravity readings to fill out a chart like this. More broadly useful, I think, would be a way to chart % Efficiency and % Attenuation between a group of selected sessions. that was kinda what i was hoping that etbandit would say. it would be...

Re: What do you want to see in session recording?

What do you want to see in session recording? Let us know what you think makes session recoding useful. A feature for session recording: To be able to track ones fermentation graphically. Ie: To be able to log the SG of ones ferment from day to day and have BTP plot SG and %ALC vs. time graphically...

i do the same

same as bill
i open the recipe on brew day, and immediatly 'save as' "[recipe name] as brewed [date]" make my notes, and go. my big problem is that i don't go back and rate the finished beer in my as brewed notes.

my problem, not btp.

hey it must be nice to live in a state where you can get beer. the stuff is close to illegal here. technically you can't ship or have shipped, or for that matter bring in your own from out of state. truely a pain in the !@#. i've shipped and recieved without a problem, i think they really go after p...
