Re: BTP losses to trub & chiller

Thanks heaps guys. I've set the -2.0lt as default in the volume adjustment column & changed all recipes to 22.0lt, scaled of course & this leaves me with 20lt net volume which is what I want to drain from the kettle into the fermenter. The strike in volumes & sparge volumes now match up ...

Re: BTP losses to trub & chiller

Ive figured out where the volume drop down is & the Net Volume will be as you said, the volume after that additional kettle loss. If I want 20lt into my fermenter allowing 2lt for trub left behind in the BM, even after altering the volume adjustment, BTP still only wants me to add 28lt for mash ...

Re: 50L Braumeister tips and tricks

I'm a few years late but I own a 50lt Braumeister.
Best piece of brewing equipment I've ever purchased.

Re: BTP losses to trub & chiller

The volume that appears in the recipe window is volume in the kettle, so changing the dead volume in the equipment editor doesn't affect the volumes displayed or any of the calculations. To reduce the volume available to be drained from the kettle you need to make a "Volume Adjustment". T...

BTP losses to trub & chiller

Hi guys. I have been skipping between BTP & BeerSmith due to a water calculation error possibly on my part & can't seem to figure out how to calculate my trub loss in BTP. When using BeerSmith, I have my Braumeister set up to leave behind 2.0lt after boiling & I lose 1.0lt to the ferment...

Re: "No chill" option

No chill option is a bonus. I no chill & have to manually work out my hop additions which is a real pain. A simple check box for this step would be great. I love BTP but the no chill check box in BrewMate software is seeing me head for that software.
Can somebody please look at this option.
Cheers

Bottle conditioning vs force carbing

I have been All Grain brewing for the last 3 years & bottled everything. About 1 year ago I purchased a kegging setup & after getting 19 or so litres into the corny, I bottled the remaining 4 litres or so. I am noticing that the same beer, same age is somewhat different. I do not like the fo...

fg low enough?

Three types of Porter that I know of, Brown, Baltic & Robust. Brown OG 1.052-1.040 FG 1.014-1.008 Baltic OG 1.090-1.060 FG 1.024-1.016 Robust OG 1.065-1.048 FG 1.016-1.012 Based on your OG reading, Robust Porter should be down more to 1.016-1.012. Should really finish at between 4.8%-6.5%. If yo...

Thanks again Rob, I will have a go at that. With your above calculations, does a points chart work like this, 1.049 = 49 points 1.045 = 45 points 1.036 = 36 points & so on. Brian Brewed an all grain Amber Ale this afternoon using Beer Tools, 23litre batch, 70% efficiency & had a strange pre-...

Thanks for your input Rob, I still cant make any sense of it. I went into Beersmith & typed in a pre-boil volume of 32 litres at 1.035 as an example. My target pre-boil is 32 litres at 1.033. Beersmith tells me to add 1.7 litres of water to the kettle giving me 33.7 litres for the boil at my tar...

Pre-boil gravity adjustment

Hi fellow brewers, I have recently merged from Beersmith brewing software to Beer Tools Pro & need some help. I am brewing an all grain Amber Ale tomorrow & cannot work out how to use a dilution tool in BTP if there is one. I need to collect a kettle volume of approx 34 litres at 1.033sg. If...
