just be aware that anything you add to your beer is foriegn also most of these additives cause solids to come out of suspension including color pigments and yeast. time clears all and if lagering you have lots of time. I have never used clearing agents and have never had a cloudy beer that shouldn't be cloudy

cold air blower
run the line inside pvc pipe and use a blower fan to cool inside pvc with cold air from fridge. They actually sell a system just for this. Last place I saw the blower was on Ebay

regards to German beer
I lived in Baden Sollingen for 4 years fro 89-93 with the CDN Forces. I dearly miss the beer especially the weitzen with lemon on a hot summer day. As soon as my 3 tier is finished I will be copying many of those beutiful dry Pils

kit beer cream ale
I just finished a Brew House kit. Cream Ale. It is most excellent. My allgrain setup is not quite ready so I'm using wort kits for now. That Cream Ale is surprisingly good. I have many new friends because of it.

use'm all the time
I've been using them for years with no problems. Just watch the top edges, after a couple dozen uses they get sharp.
