Partigyle feature

I too would be interested in a feature of this type although I have yet to do a partigyle brew session. I have done all of the calculations based on my limited reasearch and have designed a Scotch/Scottish Ale Partigyle session. I've recently moved so I haven't had time to do it but I intend to this...

1.1.06a won't install

I've attempted twice to load it and get an error: "An exception error of NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down." I've reinstalled v1.1.05a without any errors.

Bolding bug?

I'm not sure if this is a bug but when you move an item, i.e. ingreidents or recipes, to another subdirectory in the left side data directory tree it bolds that subdirectory and it remains bold until you move something else or close the current recipe. I would expect the mouseover to bold the approp...

More on scan function

A couple handy touches to this tool would be a "Select/Unselect All" toggle. Maybe in the column header above the check boxes since it's not used for anything anyhow. As it is I have to individually unselect over a hundred recipes, half are duplicates for testing, to scan in new recipes. V...

Adding recipes to recipe directory

I know scan will add all selected recipes but how do you add the recipe that you have loaded? I would like to be able to save the recipe and add it to a subdirectory in my Recipe directory in the left "gutter" without having to use the scan function. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Text positioning peculiarity

When looking through the various displays I've noticed that when you display Volume Adjustments then go back to any of the Ingredients' displays the text in the Stage column is shifted 1/2 character to the left. This will continue to display like this until you display Schedule which afterwards the ...

RE: Medieval double mash process

wottaguy, I'll post a fairly detailed results of the brew. I do intend to do it I'm just having a little timing issue with my starter. I have to have a considerable amount for a Scotch & Scottish ale. I won't be oxygenating either one and I'll be fermenting at low temps thus the reason for the v...

RE: Medieval double mash process

Now that actually makes more sense now. I can see how that could possibly hit the OG numbers that Noonan mentions. I'm not sure if the 2-penny will be all that low in OG though. I'll likely attempt it this weekend if I can free up some carboys. I'll let you know how it goes when I do it. Thanks for ...

Medieval double mash process

I've been looking at Gregory Noonan's Scotch Ale (Classic Beer #8 ) and it has recipes for double mashing using an older method than what's common now. There are a couple things to this method that I don't understand. The first thing I don't understand are the double mash recipes' fermentables when ...

Sussex Bitter

The Puffin pale malt is likely just a brand. I was more curious about the enzymic malt. What the heck is that? Unfortunately the color is one aspect the recipe database didn't seem to have much of at all.

Good luck with the brew. I'll be waiting to hear how your final recipe turns out.

RE: Sussex Bitter

Sorry this took so long. Had some computer issues...the wife kept interrupting me to do her stuff. Anyhow here's what was in the book. There were four versions with the primary difference in the malt. The info is very vague but at least it's something to start from. Version 2 & 3 (Version 1 does...

Re: K&B Sussex ale

I have at home the "The Homebrewers Recipe Database" by Les Howarth. He's a gentleman from Scotland. It contains the basic information on over 2,000 European beers. Unfortunately the data for the K&B Sussex Bitters is somewhat vague. It does give the grains & hops used but no quant...

Re: Request - Adding fruit extracts during bottling/kegging

I did a month ago. I thought it would be good for flavoring extracts or bottling sugars.
