That happens when I don't clean the radiator when cooling wort......... Just kidding! I have noticed this to a small degree, I always thought it was high fermentation temps and fusal alcohols. You can buy mocron filters to filter your co2 to check this out, try another supplier or check for a clean ...

I have put recipes that were close to what I wanted into the beertools and tweeked them to the right color and finishing gravity(sweetness) and IBU(hop presence) and then brewing the results and adjusting from that once again. Phil's uses a wire and brass tubes.
The wire is drilled through and attached via solder to the vertical brass tube and a ball of tin on the end of the wire.

I quit using mine and now use a plastic lid on top of the grain to pur onto, works good, cheap, no making it.
