Malt man

You do have a basement to use as a floor malting station! Bring a snow shovel and a fan.

I think RO takes out any local "Charactor" the beer my have. I have always been a proponent of filtering my brew water or boiling it if I have money to do so. And then, treating with a max of 5ml of acid in any case and "go" with that. I alomost always hit the PH range I'm lookin...

That happens when I don't clean the radiator when cooling wort......... Just kidding! I have noticed this to a small degree, I always thought it was high fermentation temps and fusal alcohols. You can buy mocron filters to filter your co2 to check this out, try another supplier or check for a clean ...

I have a way.

I have put recipes that were close to what I wanted into the beertools and tweeked them to the right color and finishing gravity(sweetness) and IBU(hop presence) and then brewing the results and adjusting from that once again. I hit a home run with a fest beer and a wit beer using this method to com...

Yeh!

When I switched to a larger boil kettle, I had the same 10 point loss. I had to think this one thru for awhile, and it turned out that due to the wider bottom I was losing more than I knew. I poured it into the primary and after the fermentation slowed, off to the secondary leaving all the junk behi...

Wire

Phil's uses a wire and brass tubes.
The wire is drilled through and attached via solder to the vertical brass tube and a ball of tin on the end of the wire.

I quit using mine and now use a plastic lid on top of the grain to pur onto, works good, cheap, no making it.
