Re: easy mashtun

Do this-it takes about 10-15 minutes, only tools needed are a wrench to get the spigot out of the cooler, tinsnips for the stainless braid, and a screw driver for the clamps. This guy is highly knowledgable. Not sure what you are alluding to, slim. Perhaps it's Denny Conn's Cheap 'n' Easy Batch Spa...

Couple of items for you 7 - Didn't you !@#$ about this 3 weeks ago? Give it up. I couldn't agree more. Veegs, you've only posted on this board four times, and all four have been to whine about how you think you got hosed. Sorry you had a bad experience, but It happens. Time to forget about it and m...

The keg wan't sealed if you heard air escaping from it. Even when naturally carbonating in a keg you need to give it an initial charge from a CO2 tank to seat all the o-rings and seal the keg. Without sealing the keg the beer will never carbonate because the CO2 will just escape to atmosphere instea...

You can get an analysis of your water at Ward Labs . Once on the site go to Fee Schedule and then water analysis. Test W-6 is the one you need. About matching the profiles of famous brewing cities; keep in mind that the info you get is most likely for the municipal water supply. What you don't know ...

I had the same experience several month ago, except I was using Crossover Office which is a Wine derivative. The thing is that earlier versions of BTP would run, but after version 1.0.27, or so, it stopped working. Like Bellemus said, never any problems with ProMash. EDIT: I should have mentioned th...

Are you sure? US-05 and Pale Chocolate show up in my database. Summit is missing. I'm using version 1.5.2.

I'm not aware of any organisms that can live in a pure CO2 environment. As long as you don't have any leaks and the tubing is in good mechanical condition, I'd just leave them alone.

Cool! Glad you found an economical solution.

BTW, I downloaded your Redhook ESB clone recipe last week and had hoped to brew it this Monday, but it looks like it will snow. Guess you don't have that problem in Florida

There is this pump at MoreBeer. I don't know what your budget is, but at $325 it isn't cheap. If you're already using a March 805 series pump you can just buy the pump head. It looks like it will mate with the 805 motor, but ask them to be sure. That will run you $240. Still not that cheap, but bett...

Thanks for the reply, Bill. I was under the same assumption as you about how this supposed to work. In fact, I was about to post essentially what you posted. Seeing your post I decided to try it and discovered I didn't get the result I expected. To be a little more specific, I set up a mash schedule...

If there is krausen you have fermentation. I doubt that there is anything to worry about. The air lock is not bubbling because the CO2 is escaping somewhere else. If you're using a bucket it is most likely that the lid is not sealed.

Hey kabbo, I use the same method as you to make starters. With continuous aeration the anti foam drops are a must have. I've aerated starters for 36 hours without any foaming problems using the drops.

Here's some food for thought, set up a network. I've done it and it works well because both PC's are using the same recipe folders. No running back and forth between computers with a flash drive. I used my desktop as the host and pointed the laptop to the shared files under "My Network Places&q...
