There was an article in Brew Your Own a while back detailing the process. I think if you search their website you may find it. The basic theory is that you bring the finished (fermented!) beer up to the boiling point of the alcohol which I think is something like 160 degrees F or so, and hold it the...

Re: Efficiency of higher BTU burners

I just received a Bijou Classic SQ-14 low pressure 150K btu cooker ... It used to take me 40 minutes to bring 6.5 gallons to a boil. Today: 15 minutes! I've never been all that concerned about how long it takes to come to a boil; I usually have something else to do while it's heating, and it's just...

I just received a Bijou Classic SQ-14 low pressure 150K btu cooker as a gift. This is a major upgrade over the standard turkey cooker burner I was using which was probably 60K. It used to take me 40 minutes to bring 6.5 gallons to a boil. Today: 15 minutes! That said, a standard turkey cooker will d...

+1 on what everyone here has said. I actually see more development going on here than I had experienced with other software.

There also was nothing about it in the release notes included with the download. I'm also curious.

I'd like to see the ability to re-order/sort ingredients automatically by column. IE it would be nice to automatically reorder the hop additions by time.

You can add ingredients using the "New" button. You can use similar settings to a comparable ingredient, or contact the manufacturer for specific data. They (especially a brewing company like Coopers) will likely be happy to provide the info, or it may even be listed on their website.

I actually was just about to post a question about calibration... Should the calibration be done with JUST water? I ask because I calibrated my aluminum pot that I use for step mashing and while I was able to hit my strike temperature within one degree on my first "calibrated" brew, the pr...

Would it be possible to have an unstyled html export option? I like the bbcode option that is there now, and I understand having the html export as it is now, but it would also be nice to have just plain xhtml tags without the added style information that overrides external css.

Thanks!

I would like to see a spot to have a fermentation schedule with days and temperature. Have it available for more than primary and secondary but also teriatary (sp?). I second this. Also a place to record actual-vs-targeted values for this (is this what people are talking about with "session lo...
