Guys- First of all, congrats. I've said it before, but this is a great app! As far as updates/patches, I noticed that with all of the beta updates, user inputed data like ingredients/water profiles got deleted. Will the updates/patches you put out for BTP also do this? I'd really like it if I didn't...

Re: Docs
Cool!jeff wrote:Yes, there will be docs. You can use the mash features even without equipment configured. You will just have to manually set your heat times, and the final temperatures after rests. BTP will handle the rest.

I'm having a really hard time understanding the heat transfer coefficient and heat capacity. I've read a few articles on it and it's still a mystery to me. Any chance the documentation will include specifics on how to formulate those numbers based on one's equipment? I really want to start using the...

After reading the article I understand the algorithms/utilization section a lot more too. I went with Mosher's for Boil Time and Gravity Correction, but with Daniel's Pellet Correction - Mosher's just seems too high to me. Plus, I use a hop bag and I figured I'd get slightly less utilization anyway.

Manual topics
I think that the more 'scientific' parts of the program need to be discussed. i.e. utilization algorithms and how they affect the stats, equipment data (heat capacity & heat transfer coefficient as well as their measurement units are pretty Greek to me), etc. Most of the basic functions of the p...

Utilization algorithms
Forgive my ignorance, but what should I be using the utilization algorithms for? I noticed after messing around with them that they change the stats quite a bit. Furthermore, how do I know whose algorithms to use (i.e. Mosher's, Rager's, etc)?

Another possibility is that you didn't incorporate the honey enough in your beer when mixing for bottling. Honey, because of its thick consistency, can be tough to prime with. Sometimes it doesn't always get distributed evenly and you're left with some bottles that are very over-carbed and, likewise...
