That should work, but the disk image should also be in your trash after you install. Just drag it out and you'll be fine. Either that or copy it over to your backup or network before you first install and the copy shouldn't be touched.

No need to download twice. Download once, copy to your backup disk, and install from the copy. Works smoothly.

I just checked, and it's the same on Mac OS 10.4.9 with V.22. And even more annoying, it defaults to Dollars per gram. I can change it to anything I want and when I reopen, it's $0.05/gram.

Mike, I'm not trying to be an !@#, but what kind of extract features are you looking for/expecting/hoping for? I agree that it can be frustrating when something you (I) think is a critical feature doesn't appear in update after update, but some details will help the developers decide where to direct...

I haven't seen that for quite a while. Since I regularly check the forum, I find out soon, but I have used older versions of BTP without getting any notification.

Re: Save as bug

I don't get that using Save as. It behaves as normal, with a .btp tag.

Also, many recipes are well tested and sure bets. CJ's (various JPA mutations and the Community Ale's are fantastic)..... Thanks for that. I don't post any recipe that hasn't turned out well, and it's nice when other people also find them interesting. Here are some links to the recipes mentioned: B...

I get a large majority of my brewing-related info from online forums, especially BrewBoard and Northern Brewer. But I also read BYO and The New Brewer magazines every issue, and I have a large collection of Brewing Techniques and Zymurgy as well. And I read brewing books, both for homebrewers and pr...

Re: Three Suggestions for the Ingredient Browser

I'd like to suggest three things that IMO would greatly improve the ease of use of the ingredient browser: 1. Double-clicking the ingredient should add it to the recipe. This would be the most efficient method to browse through the list and add ingredients. 2. We should be able to multiple-select i...

Use just the gravity points, so in your example your gravity points reading is 56. Put it into the formula, and you end up with 50.4 -- which means 1.050. 8)

It shouldn't matter, as long as you use the same units both pre and post.

It will affect the IBU calculations if that volume isn't properly accounted for. In other words, if you (or BTP) thinks that there's 5.5 gallons because that's how much you put in the formula but actually there's 6 gallons in your brewpot after the boil with a half gallon getting left behind, then y...

If you added water, you take your OG after mixing in the water thoroughly.

I noticed something like that yesterday and swear that I worked in an earlier version, but I didn't have time to go back to check it out in detail.
