Consider going to "All Grain"
Hey guys, I started in 1991 brewing just extract brews. No specialty grains, no partial mash. Those beers were good, and I was impressed. Three years ago I went all grain, and WOW what a difference. The malt complexity that you can brew is amazing. I now brew beers better than anything I ever brewed...

How about making one
Ross,
How about making one, are you handy with tools ? I made mine for about $45.00 using 3/8" copper tubing and 3/4" garden hose. You need to do some soldering but it's pretty easy, mine works great. Search on-line for plans on making one OK?

Chris,
In my past experience using corn sugar is that it will give you a cidery flavor ... but I am not sure at what ratio.

You should be OK ...
Toad,
As long as you covered it hot you should be fine. I don't see any issues with starting over as if nothing happened ...
Good Luck,
Paul.

Thanks for all of the feed back
Hey Beer Tools Team, Thanks for all of the input. I think I will try it, I will stay true to country to start with, either all German or all British or all American hops. I think I will make two seperate blends for each country that I need, one for bittering (higher AAU) and one for flavor / Aroma ....

Hop Blends
Hey gang, I have been reading about blending hop varieties together. For instance a "German" blend might be 1 oz. each of Hallertau, Saaz, Spalt, Styrian Goldings, N. Brewer, Tettnanger. Does anyone do this. The philosophy is to extract the best of the best flavors and aromas. Of course yo...

Water Science: All Grain Liquor question
Hello Beertools members, My question is this: My water is at 7.0 - 8.0 pH. Should I be adjusting it with Citric acid to try and drop the level. I traditionally use 1/2 Teaspoon Epsom Salts, and 1/2 Teaspoon Gypsum. I am not really sure if there is anything else I need to do. A side note: Presently I...

Air lock activity
Hi, You did not specify whether you are using plastic fermenters or Carboys for primary, so I assuming that it is plastic. One thing that it could be is that lid of your bucket is leaking every so slightly and you are losing gases that way. It is not a big problem. You sound like a newbie, and when ...
