Are you talking literally about MASH efficiency (how well you covert) or do you mean total preboil mash/lauter efficiency (how well you convert AND extract)? You mention a gravity reading of 1.078 and the only thing I can think of is that you're measuring first runnings gravity.

It's called Camstudio. I think it was the first thing that came up when I searched for "free screen recording". I'm still working on getting the quality up though. Probably dropping my resolution while capturing would help.

[1.5] Video Tutorials

I know a lot of people are still having trouble with the basics so hopefully this will help.

I put together two videos on youtube for basic setup/recipe creation:

Re: Batch Sparging Example - Beta 1.5.11

Ryan, while I agree with a few of your points I think you're making a huge assumption that all batch spargers think like you and use your exact process. I sure don't. Yes, I will wholeheartedly agree that the resultant temperature after any sparge infusion should absolutely tell you what the equiliz...

Good point and thanks for the clarification. I suppose that method would account for situations where you heat your strike in the tun but also need to account for the temperature of infusions that enter later such as decoctions.

Well wait a second.. if you are heating your strike water in the mash vessel wouldn't a heat capacity of zero actually be accurate? In other words, you don't need to account for the mash vessel pulling heat from your strike water because it's already up to temp.

Can we get the brew date to show up on the text export? I see that it's included in the direct print out, but it's not on the text output. I like to post the HTML on my website as a brew log and I have to constantly go back to BTP to find the brew date. Thanks for your consideration.

Schedule is cutoff on text export and print

I can't use a printout because the batch sparge info is completely missing so I don't know what my infusion volumes and temps are supposed to be. Here's a text export but the same thing happens on print even though I have a 3-part sparge. First runnings and two equal batch sparge infusions. http://w...

Print my inventory

I need a way to print out my entire inventory. Sometimes you just want to sit with a piece of paper and think about new ingredients you'd like to stock or just throw around recipe ideas with other folks without having to have a laptop around.

I usually open the info panel and position it next to the main window so that I can see all the information for every item I click on. Works ok for me. :) You ought to think about making the info pane open as a default when the program launches, at least on initial install because I only recently f...

I finally got to play more with 1.5.3 and I see the planned folder. I also see that any recipe in this folder will show up as a recipe item in the shopping list window. I can't quite figure out distinction between planned and assembled in that shopping list though. Is it that planned recipes won't a...

Jeff, That's the usage I expected out of the collection vessel temp but wouldn't you agree that resultant grist temp upon a new infusion is more important than calculating heating times in the schedule? Even if it's not more important, I think batch spargers would find it more important than "a litt...

Hey, you know that WAS my assumption all along too (that the final temp indicated was the grist including the new infusion). Now I SORT OF understand why you might want to know the temp in the collection vessel but isn't the grist after infusion the more important figure? I don't mind using collecti...
