Ok here is the scoop on recipe comments

Hi Gang,
Out of nearly 2,100 recipes there are 142 comments on 86 recipes. One thing we should try is posting questions on recipes that grab our attention. The author can thus be "encouraged" to offer more info on how it turned out.
Thanks,

What do you want in your brewing software?

Hello,
We are working very hard on the software version of BeerTools. We want to make sure that we keep the user in mind, so we thought we should periodically ask for your input on what you want to see in brewing software.
So let us have it!

Is it tight

Some yeast is more sensitive..it will wait until the perfect conditions (such as temperature and peak chemical reaction) are taking place. You might also want to make sure that if you are using a bucket that it is tighly sealed. But I imagine by now the yeast activity has started.

The Brew Masters Bible

I found a pretty good coverage of that topic in the "Brew Masters Bible" by Stephen Snyder. Pages 14 and 15 cover "Partial Mash Ale Brewing" and pages 16 and 17 discuss "Partial Mash Lager Brewing". I saw that book in the books section of this site. You might also want to try doing a keyword search ...
