Loss of grain aroma/flavour from pre-crushed grain?

Has anyone experienced the loss of aroma, flavour, and/or freshness in their beer from using grains they pre-crushed, say 1 day, 1week, 2 weeks to 1 month etc. prior to their actual brew day. I order grains that the brew store crushes for me the day before my brew day. Im wondering if it would be be...

Not boiling finnings.

Thanks for the info wot.

The isinglass finnings i have is in liquid form. It recommends 1ml per 1Litre of beer. Should I be worried about contamination if I use it un-boiled?

Should Isinglass Finnings be boiled???

I have Isinglass finnings in liquid form.

Does it need to be boiled before adding to my secondary fermenter?

Does boiling Isinglass finnings denature it and prevent it from doing its job?

Re: BTP 1.0.23 failed to load.

Jeff, Unsure why, but 1.0.23 like 1.0.22 failed to load. The below error message pops up. 1.0.21 runs fine though on my Mac OS 10.2.8, 1Ghz, PowerPC. Runtime Error 4: Failed Assertion Location/volumes/RBUS/common/plugin.cpp:7086 Failure condition:pluginEntryTable.GetEntry(entrypoinName, out) Failur...

Thanks Jeff.

Cheers Jeff.

Hopefully this issue can be resolved for Jaguar users.

Could this also be related to why the Pre-boil gravity doesnt appear when I mouse over the OG or final volume fields?

Pre-boil gravity readings

The latest update addresses this issue. The help tag displays pre-boil gravity when mousing over the kettle volume. Likewise the help tag displays the original gravity when mousing over the final volume field. I am using BTP 1.0.21, but still cant seem to display the pre-boil gravity even when movi...

Re: Suggest a 'Fermentation' display panel

Since one of the features of BTP is the sharing of recipes, and since information about fermentation is useful and the creator might not think to add such info in the notes section, I suggest that a 'display' be added between 'Schedule' and 'Volume Adjustments'. There a user might enter things like...

Re: Preboil gravity readings

Fairly new to BTP and I can't figure out how to figure a couple things. I see where my original gravity and terminal gravity is calculated, but how can I find my pre-boil SG. Post mash I would like to take a gravity reading and figure out how close I will be to my OG after I boil off and cool to ro...
