Wort Boil Duration is set to hours. I don't see any way to set it to minutes. When I try to manually change it to "80 min," I get a message that the number has to be less than 24. When you choose "deduct from inventory" and then go and revise the recipe and choose "deduct from inventory" again, the ...

Don't quote me, but I think you can save your mash schedule as a template or as the default. I did it several months ago and it pops up every time I open a new recipe, but I don't really remember what I did -- or if that was the best way to do it.

I dont really know a way to put this nicely, so I'll be blunt. The "new grain" window is crap. DBFG, DBCG, AICG, FG-CG, etc... wtf does any of that mean? hovertext? nope. help button? nope. online documentation? yes, but it shouldnt come down to REQUIRING me check that. to add insult to injury, the...

Yeast will continue to give off CO2 even at lower temperatures, at least for a while. That's what I've always read anyway. I can tell you, though, that if your beer has been at 45F for any length of time, you truly don't need as much priming sugar.

I use Tinseth. From what I've read, it's most accurate for full boils. But, all of the formulas are just estimates anyway, so the best advice is to choose one, get used to what the number means to you, and then adjust your hops from there. That way if you are going for 40 IBUs on your system, you'll...

I get the expired key thing every few months, it seems. I'm not sure what triggers it, but even though it's not that big of a problem to get a new key, it is annoying.

If you join BeerTools Gold website, you can access from any computer. If you buy BeerTools Pro software, it is downloaded and installed on your computer -- it's an actual application. So to answer your question, it all depends on which BeerTools you're talking about. 8)

I've only done one partigyle, but having it as a feature of BTP would probably encourage me to give it a try again. If it is added, however, it will definitely need clear instructions to make it understandable for people who've never done it before. (Lack of built in help is still one of the weakest...

Are you sure your evaporation losses are set correctly? Rather than fudge with the temperatures so you can hit the volumes you are used to, adjust the evaporation rate up or down and see how that works with the actual temps. It's very possible that you're evaporating less (or more) than you think. I...

While I don't like the "tabley" look of Alchemy, I do agree that separating the ingredients into grains, extract, hops, yeast, other (or something similar) is a lot better way to go. But I really hop BTP doesn't go to tables -- all those separating lines give me a headache. :?

But you can still browse all the recipes, right? I agree that it's kind of an artificial limit, but as long as you can still look at all the recipes and then just download the couple that you want to use and/or reference, that's not too bad.

Yeah, there's no way Magnum would come in at 3.7%! I'm going with a package mislabeling -- give Freshops a call and see what they say. I'm sure they'll tell you that it's supposed to be 13.7%.

Go to your download page and see if there's a message that you need to download a new key. If you do, click on it and a new key will be sent to you. If you don't, your current valid key should be shown there.
