Re: No worky

Mine downloaded without any problems. Although I save the file versus running it when I download. You might give that a try. If you're using a PC just turn off the close when done check box and you can run it as soon as it finishes the download.

Hope this helps,
Bob O.

Re: Cut and Paste in Notes

If you're using a PC have you tried the shortcut keys? Use crtl-V to paste, crtl-X to cut, and crtl-C to copy. While the right mouse button doesn't work these key combos still function although the mouse button would be easier.

Additional Stage - Bottling/Kegging

Could "Bottling/Kegging" be added to the stage dropdown menu for adjuncts such as flavoring extracts or maybe even dextrose?

LME volume

I couldn't tell if this has been brought up before or not but is there a way that when you select LME that the kettle volume is adjusted appropriately? This is constantly catching me. Just today I brewed a batch and as I was pouring in my extract (12 pounds) I noticed that the kettle level was getti...

Agreed

A little less wordy :wink:, I agree. Since I'm really only concerned about being in a general pH range I think the numbers are likely to be close enough. Afterall this is homebrewing and not some large scale commercial brewery where I need to squeeze out every possible fraction of efficiency. Thanks...

Water analysis

All of the values listed with the exception of one Alkalinity are from Ward Labs in Nebraska. I also had the BTP calculated Hardness value of 211. I wish I had another lab report from a different water source to compare the BTP values with. I think this would be very helpful in determining what we'r...

Water Profile - Alkalinity value difference

I just got the results from my water analysis. So I put the values into the Water Profile and my Alkalinity from BTP is lower than from the lab. Which is correct?

Ca = 45
Mg = 24
Na = 7
SO4 = 16
Cl = 9
HCO3 = 198
Hardness = 213
Alkalinity = 173 (lab) 162.4 (BTP)

Thanks,

Another spam slowing method

Should you be interested another method of slowing spam is to use a captcha. I've seen this coming up more and more. If you're unfamilar with what captcha is it's that funny looking graphic of letters and numbers that you have to decipher and then type out correctly. This pretty much stops the bots ...

Re: Congratulations - BTP pictured in BYO

It's not so much about the BV as it is about formulating beer. Of course if you keep each criteria value within the prescribed range for the style the BV seems to calculate out to a reasonable value. For the most part anyhow. I had put the equations in a spreadsheet a while back to play with and dec...

Only two solutions to this

either brew more and more often, or drink less. I go with the brew more having about 20 gallons of various brews ready to drink. If you lived nearby I'd share.

Cheers!!

Congratulations Jeff and Lathe. A picture of BTP is on page 40 of the Mar-Apr issue of BYO. The article is Balanced Recipe and has a screen shot of BTP.
