sanitizer question

I would like to bottle (into 12oz. bottles) some premixed sanitizer to keep in the basement brew corner so this way when I need to take a gravity reading or anything like that I can just open up one or two bottles without having to mix up a new batch of sanitizer. Does this sound alright, do you thi...

Do not be alarmed, this is a test of the qwerty keyboard functioning system. **** [/color] If this were a real shift key emergency, you would hear **!** This is just a test. Thank you. Is what I assume was meant by your post SpruceBrew. I hope it worked for ya  Welcome to the BeerTools forum

Thanks SR! I appreciate the help with all of this, and am now confident that it will turn out quite right. I plan on adding the additional hops in somewhere between the 5 and 10 minutes. I always slip and let things run a little more than intended anyways. Should I plan on dry hopping this for an ex...

what a relief! I was beginning to worry that the bag would somehow throw the taste off. As said in our other conversation regarding the E.IPA, I am just beginning to experiment with hops. Before beginning to brew, I was one of those "stout only" kind of guys, so I never even knew anything ...

cheap online hop seller

I know nothing about this company, just found it one day when doing a search for discount hops by the pound. Worth checking it out.

So I racked a half batch (test) APA into the secondary today and added an additional oz. of Millennium in the secondary. To do this, I soaked a muslin hop bag in the sanitizer, squeezed out the liquid and tied the hop pellets in it. Is there any reason that I should have avoided dropping it in the b...

Adding to an IPA extract kit, needing hop help

I don't really know that I have a preference between English and American IPA. I realize that the hops included in the kit are shooting for an English, but a "hybrid IPA" sounds fun. I do have two of these kits though, so perhaps I should use one with only English hops (as I can pull the h...

Adding to an IPA extract kit, needing hop help

I recently bought a couple "True Brew" extract kits for an English IPA. The kit only comes with 2oz of hops (1oz of Pilgrim, and 1oz of First Gold) which I plan on adding a few into it for the boil as well as dry hopping. I picked up an additional oz. of Cascade, and an ounce of Chinook. T...

Beefing up an AG recipe with extract

I am still somewhat new to homebrewing, but I was taught and have only known/done all grain recipes. I recently found a killer deal on some partial mash kits and bought those which has led to my curiosity about the use of extract. Can I add in some dried extract to AG recipes to give it an abv boost...
