well jeff with beer tools answered that one a simple calibration i was misunderstanding putting 150-160 temps in a cold test vessel and measuring times of 5 min and 65 min to determine heat absorbtion and losses whoops thanks for the help

just built a hlt , mash tun, and a brew pot out of sankes all with thermometers im just wondering for 10 gal batches if the thermometer on mash tun is placed about 7 inches from bottom of tun off of false bottom on the 15 and a half gallon keg anyone know how much grain per inch on average takes up ...

anyone with suggestions on adjustments from the factory .39 setting it seems a little dusty for a crush (checked gap with feeler gauge so it is on .39)
